It has a history of about 2,000 years.
This year, it will have a big ceremony, Shikinen-Sengu, which takes place once every twenty years.
A completely same new shrine building is built next to the existent building.
The first Shikinen-Sengu was held 1,300 years ago.
Since then, the once-every-twenty-year ceremony has continued except war time.
This time is 62th.
