One of the greatest religious souls (Kami) in Shintoism, Amaterasu-Ohmikami, is enshrined at Ise Shrine, the most famous schrine in Japan.
It has the most important ceremony named Shikinen-sengu, which has been held every 20 years for more than 1,200 years.
Shikinen-sengu is also held this year at Izumo Shrine.
