At first, Amaterasu-Ohmikami was formally worshiped in the Imperial Palace.
However, the 10th Japanese Emperor decided to worship the goddess more respectfully outside the Imperial Palace.
The 11th Japanese Emperor ordered his princess to seek the most appropriate place to permanently enshrine and worship Amaterasu-Ohmikami.
