Buddhism is a religion which was founded by Gautama Buddha about 2500 years ago.
There are two major branches of Buddhism.
They are Theravada, “The School of the Elders”, and Mahayana, “The Great Vehicle”.
Theravada is widespread around Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia, while Mahanaya is found throughout East Asia.
